Architectural Director

The Role:

A luxury residential design studio based in North London are looking for a talented and commercially minded Architectural Director to join their management team as Operations Director. The role will involve managing and designing to all RIBA stages, in addition to managing a team and working with the Directors of the company to lead the company into their next phase of growth.

The company has a lot of exposure in London and places a strong empathises on their ability to deliver outstanding residential design and on client journey and satisfaction. The studio is a small close-knit practice but are looking to expand and need someone to help spear head that transition. The company prides themselves on their employee job satisfaction and this is reflected in their low staff turnover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the preparation and delivery at all design stages – including schedules and packages so delivered in line with submission deadlines and client brief
  • Key point of contact between studio and clients
  • Identify and propose design measures to comply with building conducts and regulations
  • Run a team, including managing and mentoring designers, and help in resourcing for future company hires
  • Review and manage projects to budget and time constraints
  • Delivering project on time and documenting using time sheets and expenses when required
  • Running weekly design team meetings
  • Manage the forward development of the practice and work with the owners on strategy, company growth and commercial opportunities

Key Skills:

  • Fully qualified Architect
  • Experience in a similar role within high-end, bespoke residential
  • Advanced in AutoCAD (required)
  • Revit or ArchiCAD (advantageous)
  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Strong commercial awareness
