Business and Operations Manager

The Role:

Our client, an appreciated and internationally regarded lighting studio are seeking a highly knowledgeable and confident Business and Operations Manager to join their driven team in London. Within this role, you will be responsible for maintaining effective communication between staff and clients to ensure an exceptional level of service delivery. You will coordinate client meetings and provide support to the design team, while efficiently planning and allocating resources in alignment with monthly and annual objectives.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate client meetings and provide support, leadership and guidance to the design teams
  • Prepare monthly reports on statistics, proposals, and project financials while providing feedback to the design teams
  • Analyse fees received and fee structures, conduct workload and forecasting analysis
  • Assist the director in resolving commercial issues and maximizing profitability
  • Identify and pursue business growth opportunities
  • Support the design teams in delivering fee proposals
  • Handle new client inquiries and maintain up-to-date data in the company database
  • Manage the New Business strategy, set realistic targets, and monitor progress
  • Organise networking events and business trips in collaboration with the admin team
  • Contribute to the strategic and creative development of the company’s brand
  • Manage the annual New Business budget and provide regular updates
  • Direct the professional development of the design teams and foster a motivated work environment
  • Promote Diversity, Equity & Inclusion practices within the studio
  • Conduct team meetings, informal catchups, and provide HR support to maintain high performance
  • Manage annual appraisals, staff conduct reviews, and track targets
  • Review project performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Oversee compliance with insurance, health and safety policies

Key Skills:

  • Possess a strong understanding of the architectural lighting industry
  • A strong leader and ability to drive a team & business forward
  • Familiar with the end-to-end design process in high-end luxury interiors
  • Proficient in InDesign and Microsoft Office
  • Confident communicator to build ensure strong and effective relationships are built
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Assertive and engaging management skills
  • Highly organised and efficient
  • Creative mindset with a strategic approach
