Business Development Manager

The Role:

A highly sought-after and desirable architectural practice based in south London are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join their friendly and social team.

This is a newly created position and therefore requires someone with previous experience in a similar role within the architecture/built environment to work alongside the senior team. The purpose of the role is to help facilitate growth objectives by identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities. The position will be instrumental in defining and executing strategic initiatives that drive the practice’s expansion. You will play a key role in establishing and nurturing strong relationships with external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and connect with potential new clients in target markets, arranging meetings and conveying the company’s vision
  • Manage relationships with existing clients
  • Maintain and update project information
  • Contribute to proposals, competitions, and award entries
  • Proactively search for new opportunities
  • Assist in determining team composition for projects
  • Use a CRM system to record and manage new business development activities and leads
  • Represent and promote the company brand
  • Identify relevant industry events and speaking opportunities
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Comms team to develop supporting materials for business development
  • Prepare and present weekly progress reports

 Key Skills:

  • Previous experience within a similar position in the architecture/build environment
  • Highly passionate and knowledgeable about the architecture and design sector
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated and works well both in a team and autonomously
  • Proficient Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign, and Photoshop
  • Skilled in motivating and influencing others
