Director of Architecture

The Role:

We are collaborating with an accomplished and renowned architecture practice that hold a strong portfolio within both the UK and international market.  With a healthy amount of exciting new international projects, the practice is seeking a motivated and commercially-minded Director of Architecture to focus on driving the residential and commercial arm of their business within the UK.

As a strategic thinker, you would be able to demonstrate a history of fostering a client centric culture and treat every approach as a chance to secure and deliver top-tier architectural projects. The ideal candidate would have a strong network with a focus on large scale residential and commercial specific to the UK and would be confident in securing new business opportunities to expand and elevate the company’s established portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the commercial and residential arm of the business, driving it to its successes
• Work with the senior leadership team to develop strategies to strengthen the company’s market share
• Build and develop a team to support the growth of on the department
• Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to identify and pursue new business opportunities in the architectural market
• Lead the business development efforts for the commercial and residential department, including client prospecting, networking, and relationship building
• Generating business reports to track progress and performance
• Collaborate with the design and project management teams to develop winning proposals and presentations.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify potential opportunities.
• Championing innovation and advocating best practices, effectively articulating benefits and outcomes to both colleagues and clients

Key Skills:

• Solid experience leading a team within the large scale residential and commercial sector
• Proven successful track record in work winning within the UK architectural residential market
• Strong ability to build and maintain relationships within the architecture industry.
• Effective communication when leading a team designers and motivating them to achieve business goals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to network effectively within the architectural community.
• Deep understanding of the architecture market, client needs and competitor activities.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and practices
• Technical proficiency along with architecture design software and tools and strong understanding of UK building regulations, codes, and planning processes.
