Director of Interiors (Work-Winning)
About The Role:
We’re working with a globally respected design practice known for its innovative approach and international reach. They’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Director of Interiors to join their London studio on a permanent basis.
This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll drive the creative vision for the interiors team; through work winning, overseeing design direction, project delivery and driving business development, you will be a pivotal member of the future of the practice. You’ll work closely with the Design Director and Managing Principal, collaborating with project teams to produce outstanding, industry-leading work.

Key Responsibilities:
- Through previous experience in work winning and an extensive network, you would be responsible for the business development of the practice.
- Shape the creative direction of projects, maintaining a consistently high standard of design across the interiors team.
- Leverage expertise in materials and products to drive conceptual excellence and provide guidance throughout project development.
- Lead selected projects, balancing client needs, budgets, schedules, and site constraints.
- Engage directly with clients to explore innovative design solutions and communicate design intent clearly and effectively.
- Deliver compelling design presentations and contribute to business growth by identifying new opportunities and building client relationships.
- Support marketing efforts, including award submissions and press releases.
- Collaborate with project managers to manage budget and scheduling constraints while upholding the firm’s design standards.
- Mentor, motivate, and develop design teams, fostering a strong creative culture.
- Actively participate in recruitment efforts to strengthen the firm’s talent pool.
- Integrate sustainable design solutions into every project, ensuring responsible and forward-thinking design approaches.
Key Skills/Requirements:
- Significant experience in a similar leadership role, including team supervision.
- Previous experience in work winning.
- Strong design expertise with a proven ability to lead large-scale interior projects.
- In-depth knowledge of design principles, construction methods.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and visual.
- A collaborative leader with the ability to mentor and develop design teams.
- Comprehensive understanding of project planning, including scheduling, staffing, and budgeting.
- Strong ability to prioritise tasks, deliver compelling presentations, and negotiate effectively.
