Finance Director

The Role:

A highly desirable, global architecture practice are looking for a collaborative and knowledgeable Finance Director to join their friendly and welcoming team.

The role will lead the finance department in the UK, overseeing three entities and reporting directly to the UK MD, whilst working collaboratively with operations, HR and the wider team. The role will provide financial overview, provide strategic advice, oversee financial processes and timely production of the accounts and ensure compliance across the department. The ideal person will have a background in the architecture/design/built environment and will have experience of managing multiple subsidiaries/entities and will have international exposure at a senior level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the finance department of three entities
  • Lead and mentor the finance team
  • Ensure the timely and accurate production of financial and management accounts
  • Provide financial analysis and project profitability insight
  • Cash flow management
  • Produce forecasts and financial planning
  • Lead the annual budgeting process
  • Manage the year end and audit process
  • Ensure compliance across all financial and commercial aspects
  • Provide sound financial advice and overview to the board
  • Advise on company strategies and risk mitigation
  • Review and streamline financial processes where necessary

Key Skills:

  • Relevant financial qualifications – QBE will be considered with previous demonstrable experience
  • Strategic and commercially-minded with experience in an advisory position
  • A confident decision maker – not afraid to challenge the status quo
  • Strong budgeting and forecasting skills
  • A team player who can mentor and lead a team effectively
  • Technically strong
  • Able to translate financial jargon into layman’s terms for the benefit of non-financial people
  • Strong Excel proficiency
  • Not afraid to muck-in
