Finance Manager

The Role:

The Crowd are working with a successful and inspirational, mid-sized design studio who are looking for a dynamic, all-round Finance Manager to join their friendly and social team in London.

This role will work closely with the company directors and will play an integral part of the team. The position will ensure efficiency and accuracy of the finance function in addition to board meeting attendance and acting as the go to person for finance related matters. This is a great opportunity for someone who has previous experience at a mid-senior level, managing the full finance function in a creative SME, who strives to be a key member of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the monthly financial pack for delivery at the board meetings, including management accounts, forecasts, variance reporting, project updates and visuals to aid with business decision making
  • Produce the monthly payroll and calculate company bonuses.
  • Managing VAT, PAYE and HMRC related matters
  • Oversee the Accounts Assistant
  • Overseeing the full sales and purchase ledger functions
  • Carrying out P&L and balance sheet reconciliations, including all month end processes
  • Overseeing the accounts receivable function, ensuring timely collection of debt
  • Ensuring all transactions, revenue and expenditure, are properly accounted for in the correct periods and with accuracy
  • Posting journals and ensuring departmental revenue and costs are accurately recorded
  • Monitoring company bank accounts, managing income and expenditure
  • Putting together budgets in line with business strategy
  • Providing accurate and reliable monthly and ad-hoc reporting to management
  • Working with external parties such as auditors and ensuring compliance across the department

Key Skills:

  • Experience of working in a similar role within a creative SME preferably within the architecture/design/built environment
  • Part qualified or fully qualified. QBE will be considered.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including strong Excel skills
  • Xero proficiency and project software experience is advantageous
  • Analytical, methodical and accurate with the ability to deliver high-quality work
  • Friendly, collaborative and approachable with the confidence to challenge when necessary
