Finance Manager

The Role:

We are excited to be partnering with a reputable UK engineering firm that works with high-profile architects and developers on a range of innovative and well-known design projects. They are looking for a dynamic Finance Manager to join their team in London based out of their industrial designed modern office space. This position is hybrid.

This is a varied role where you will report to the Finance Director, overseeing a small finance team and will be responsible for managing the company’s day to day finance operations ensuring efficiency across the team. In addition to this, you will work on improving processes and systems and will be responsible for developing, mentoring and training the finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage the day-to-day aspects of the finance function
  • Manage, develop and nurture a small finance team
  • Produce financial statements and performance related reports and metrics
  • Produce cash flow forecast
  • Work with the FD on P&L/BS forecaasts
  • Review the payroll submissions to the external payroll providers and signing off the final payroll
  • Manage company pension scheme
  • Review VAT returns
  • Corporation tax calculations
  • Approving payments, expenses and signing off credit card spends
  • Work with the FD and wider team on process and procedure improvements, suggesting best practicing and ensuring successful implementation
  • Ad-hod projects

Key Skills:

  • Experience in a similar role ideally within the design industry/built environment
  • Demonstrable experience working for a high growth SME
  • Experience managing and developing a team is crucial
  • Thrives in a high-growth, hands-on environment
  • Has experience in implementing change and enhancing processes and procedures
  • Xero proficiency is required
  • Approachable and has a team mentality
