Finance Manager

The Role:

The Crowd are partnering with an established interior artist’s studio in South London who are looking for an outgoing and driven Finance Manager to join their creative, organised, and friendly team.

This role will oversee the company’s finance functions and will work closely with the senior stakeholders/directors to drive the business forward, bring ideas and help implement change and company strategy.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who would like to play a key part in a forward-thinking company who have successfully carved a niche in their industry in the UK and Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the company’s financial and management accounting functions
  • Manage the company’s cashflow and forecasting
  • Job and project costing
  • Produce financial reporting to aid decision making, including commentary and variance reporting
  • Produce management accounts
  • Work closely with the company’s bookkeeper
  • Maintain a strong and efficient credit control system
  • Ensure customer and supplier relations are maintained to a high level
  • Work with directors, marketing and project managers to produce and monitor budgets on projects such as marketing, R&D and possible product development
  • Liaise with external accountant
  • Working closing with the directors on growth forecasting and strategy building, including investigating current and potential markets
  • Manage the company’s FX exposure and ensure best practice around FX transactions
  • Liaise with the company’s European sister company to ensure correct export procedures are followed and European trading legislations are adhered to
  • Work with suppliers to negotiate prices and discounts or sourcing more cost-effective alternatives whilst maintaining quality of supply
  • Keep abreast of financial regulations and ensuring compliance in such areas
  • Monitor expenses, spending and profitability
  • Quality check and investigate where required, challenging any inefficient practice

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in art, design or the creative industry
  • Suitable financial qualification
  • Commercially astute, with the confidence to bring forward ideas and challenge the status quo
  • Meticulous, detailed and driven with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • High proficiency in Excel and MS Office
  • Sage 50 experience
