Financial Controller

The Role:

A sought after, international architecture and design studio are looking to hire an accomplished Financial Controller to manage the Finance Team and lead on financial policies, processes and procedures across the organisation. The successful candidate will be working with both the UK and overseas office(s) therefore, the role requires someone with international experience/exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the finance team to ensure all transactions, revenue and expenditure, are properly accounted for in the correct periods and with accuracy
  • Overseeing the organisations financial policies and procedures
  • Continuous review of financial programmes and lead on finance system improvement projects
  • Ensure proactive cashflow management
  • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accounting is accurate
  • FX management including FX hedging
  • Lead in the production of year end statutory accounts of the Group
  • Maintain oversight and regular communication with financial staff in Asia to ensure accurate and up to date financial records are kept and ensure Asian regulations are adhered to.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of VAT returns
  • Liaise with HR Team regarding salaries and benefits of staff based in UK and overseas, including tax calculations and PSA’s
  • Lead the company’s annual insurance reviews and renewals
  • Ensure HMRC, secretarial, National Statistics, Companies House other regulations are adhered to and compliant

Key Skills:

  • Professional accountancy qualification required (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • Previous experience leading a finance team
  • Experience in developing and communicating finance policies, controls and systems across an organisation
  • Experience of producing consolidated group accounts with overseas entities
  • Project accounting
  • International exposure (US/UK/ASIA)
  • Foreign exchange management
  • Cashflow management
  • SAGE proficiency advantageous
