Head of Procurement

The Role:

A successful luxury interior design studio are looking for an experienced Head of Procurement to lead their friendly procurement team.

The studio specialises in luxury residential projects in both the UK and abroad. Within this role, you would work on every stage of the procurement process and installation of high-end luxury projects, closely liaising with clients, studio leaders and team members whilst leading the three procurement coordinators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Procurement department/team whilst closely liaising with the Directors
  • Track and ensure targets/deadlines are met, overseeing workloads and ensuring clients’ needs are delivered
  • Create the initial FF&E budget estimate with the design team, and produce/monitor project programming and cashflow/project timelines
  • Liaise with the design team to select suppliers, then manage the purchasing and supplier duties by researching, managing supplier relationships and negotiating terms/fees
  • Help to set annual revenue targets and company growth strategy, project budgeting and forecasting, and budget improvements
  • Ensure a seamless and efficient formal client sign-off process with designers
  • Create and maintain purchasing best practices
  • Liaise with internal design and accounts teams on checking delivery notes and invoices, following up on any discrepancies with suppliers
  • Manage the PO process, ensuring that all relevant team members are updated on pricing, alternatives, placed orders, costs, quantities and payment terms
  • Keep on top of project progress/deadlines and match supplier lead times for delivery
  • Ensure supplier credit checks are completed to keep the company’s financial exposure in check
  • Manage and oversee all international shipments and on-site installation process, and ensure all goods are inspected and signed off on receipt to location/storage site with design team assistance
  • Manage to snag and follow up on ongoing supplier and product issues
  • Reconcile and close FF&E project accounts

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of procurement leadership experience in luxury interior design
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation and communication skills
  • Budget management and project management experience
  • Confident liaising with UHNWI and understanding the expert client service level
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team
