Commercial Manager

The Role:

We are working with a prestigious and cutting-edge international architecture studio who are looking for a confident Head of Project Management to join their team.

This role will manage and drive projects forward to ensure maximum profitability and minimise company exposure to risk.

Responsibilities:

• Setting and managing targets for project profitability, budget, and resource allowance
• Preparing fee proposals
• Fee calculation and negotiation
• Brief assessment / Scope Writing
• New opportunity/client risk assessment
• Contract negotiation
• Coordination of review with insurers and legal advisors
• Negotiation of scope and terms of appointment, directly with clients/contractors / sub-consultants
• Project resource management and cost assessment
• Forecasting of new business for long-term resource and budget planning
• Monitoring of project progress for expansions of scope, liability and responsibility
• Identification and negotiation of scope variations
• Empowerment of Project Directors to manage risk via awareness of contractual responsibilities
• Dispute resolution
• Insurance notification and claim management

Key Skills:

• 5+ years experience in a similar role
• Proven success within an architectural practice
• Strong commercial knowledge to ensure continued profitability
• Thorough understanding of fees, resourcing, architectural contracts, risk management and commercial insurance
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Team leadership
• Rigorous and driven, with meticulous attention to detail
• A passion for design and architecture
