Interior Designer (Residential and Commercial) – Bermuda

About The Role:

Our client, an established bespoke interior design firm based in Bermuda that specializes in a diverse range of residential and commercial projects, is seeking an Interior Designer to join their friendly and supportive team.

This role offers the chance to work alongside the founders through all phases of the design process for both residential and commercial projects. You will have full involvement across projects, including client-facing responsibilities and acting as an advisor on design ideas. The ideal candidate will be at an intermediate level and will ideally have experience working on bespoke residential projects and smaller-scale commercial projects (although this isn’t a requirement).

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and communicate throughout each step of the design process, from initial concept through construction administration
• Communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and vendors
• Oversee project deliverables effectively, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Work closely with Principals on developing and finalizing design choices and creative ideas.
• Coordinate and develop FF&E packages and material selections
• Create precise and detailed drawings, renderings, and documentation for Interior Design construction documents.
• Create initial design sketches utilizing CAD software
• Develop and manage schedules for building and functional design elements, ensuring alignment with budget constraints.

Key Skills/Requirements:

• Ability to relocate to Bermuda on a full-time basis.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Interior Design or related fields
• 4+ years of post-graduate experience
• Notable experience within the residential sector (experience within the commercial and hospitality sector preferred but not required)
• Exemplary experience utilizing AutoCAD, with demonstrated technical skills in Revit and/or SketchUp
• Comprehensive understanding of FF&E, joinery, and detailing including products, materials, finishes, and scheduling
• Skilled at working harmoniously and efficiently with team members, vendors, and clients
• Confidence in sketching and presenting new ideas
• Outstanding communication abilities, encompassing verbal, written, and visual skills
