Interior Designer with 3+ Years Experience (High End Interiors)
About The Role:
A forward-thinking, design-led interiors firm with a growing presence in New York is seeking a Interior Designer with 3+ years experience to join its collaborative and creative team. Known for its conceptual rigor, layered materiality, and artful interiors, the studio specializes in residential, cultural, and commercial projects that push boundaries while maintaining a refined, timeless sensibility.
This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to all phases of the design process, from conceptual development through final installation. The ideal candidate brings a strong design point of view, excellent communication and documentation skills, and the ability to balance creative and technical responsibilities in a fast-paced, detail-focused environment.
The position offers exposure to award-winning projects and mentorship from experienced design leaders, making it ideal for someone looking to grow and evolve within a deeply collaborative studio setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with senior designers and directors on design development across multiple projects
- Create mood boards, concept presentations, and curated material palettes
- Develop floor plans, elevations, and construction details using AutoCAD
- Assist in sourcing and specifying FF&E with a high level of design and material awareness
- Support preparation of client presentations and project documentation
- Coordinate directly with vendors, consultants, and fabricators to ensure design integrity through execution
- Participate in site visits, installations, and field measurements
- Support procurement efforts including pricing, purchase orders, tracking, and scheduling
- Contribute to a positive studio culture and uphold high design standards
Key Skills/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or a related field
- 3–5 years of professional experience in a design studio, preferably in high-end residential or boutique hospitality
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), SketchUp, and familiarity with Studio Designer or other procurement tools
- Exceptional visual communication skills, including hand sketching and 3D modeling
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects
- Detail-oriented with an appreciation for craft, materials, and storytelling through design
