Lead General Planner

The Role:

Our client, a sought after and globally recognised design firm is currently in search of a highly organised and skilled individual to assume the role of Lead General Planner for their office based in Zurich. The ideal candidate should possess significant previous experience in the AEC field and display expertise in project and consultant management, specifically on projects in Switzerland.

Within this role, you will provide oversight, support, and guidance to a large team across all aspects of design development through to execution on a high-profile infrastructure project which will last for several years. This position entails working closely with diverse stakeholders, overseeing resource management, and ensuring the project adheres to quality, sustainability, and regulatory requirements.

This is a perfect opportunity for an individual with previous experience in a similar role to join a prestigious and world leading architecture practice. Our client is open to candidates looking to re-locate to Switzerland, however experience working on Swiss projects is a must!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage contract related tasks for a large-scale project based in Switzerland
  • Ensure project deadlines are met through strategic planning and collaboration
  • Proactively address resourcing needs and maintain effective team structures
  • Act as main point of contact with clients and consultant teams to create efficient resolutions
  • Proactively manage risk assessment, quality assurance and mitigation
  • Provide support and guidance in design processes
  • Facilitate communication among project stakeholders
  • Ensure drawing sets are feasible and compliant at all phases
  • Conduct site visits to oversee progress and subcontractor compliance
  • Prepare contract documents
  • Manage and mentor team members

Key Skills:

  • Possess extensive experience in project, commercial, and contract management within the building, design, or construction industry, specialising in large-scale projects
  • Extensive experience working on projects in Switzerland, with strong knowledge of Swiss building codes and regulations
  • Full written and spoken fluency in German and English
  • Have experience overseeing large teams and working within tight deadlines on time and within budget
  • Exhibit resilience in managing conflicting demands, prioritising tasks and working under pressure
  • Confident in assessing and interpreting contractual obligations effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and numeracy skills
  • Exceptional organisational abilities, ensuring deadlines are met and budgets are managed
