People Manager

The Role:

A highly prestigious international architecture practice are looking for an experienced People Manager to lead the HR function for their growing London studio.

The practice are highly-sought after and well-known for their game-changing designs and are leading the architecture industry across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on critical people initiatives relevant to HR
  • Closely liaise with leadership around organisational development, employee relations and staff retention
  • Manage policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment law and regulations are up to date, developing and implementing as required
  • Manage all London recruitment and identify future recruitment needs
  • Keep compensation and benefits packages up to date and research rates and industry trends, aligning internal benchmarks
  • Manage immigration/visa sponsorship requirements and liaise with contract legal advisors when needed
  • Run reference checks and pre-employment quality checks (right to work, proof of qualifications, etc)
  • Onboarding and offboarding employees, organising check-ins and managing the overall process
  • Champion annual review program, ensuring feedback and performance management are properly and fairly applied, providing support and feedback training to relevant managers
  • Create and implement tailored training programs/activities/timelines for all levels of employees
  • Closely liaise with the MD, regularly reporting HR updates and reporting any employee issues around absence or conduct
  • Liaise with other People Managers in international offices, sharing knowledge, supporting ideas and streamlining processes across offices where possible, championing diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, health and wellbeing, etc.
  • Manage London office’s HR budget

Key Skills:

  • Strong HR/relevant experience, preferably within the design industry
  • Minimum level 5 CIPD qualified
  • Confident in UK employment law and compliance with the ability to translate regulations into solutions
  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thrives in a busy and demanding environment with solid time management
  • Detail-oriented and ability to work autonomously
