Senior Designer

The Role:

Our client, a specialist independent design studio that focuses on semi-permanent and permanent structures, is seeking a Senior Designer to join them at their office in London.

The position will lead a team of designers creating ambitious concepts for structures such as festival stages, set productions, exhibitions etc. You will also have the opportunity to manage projects with both architectural and interior components for high-end clients nationally and internationally.

Key Responsabilities:

  • Hold responsibility for all client-facing communications such as creating presentations and producing technical submissions
  • Manage design from concept through to production, ensuring all outputs by the design team fit the requirements
  • Produce high-level technical documents using Vectorworks, AutoCAD or Revit to produce carcass drawings, component drawings, sections, floor plans and electrical plans, researching new technologies to improve our techniques
  • Work closely with structural engineers to ensure every structure is fit for purpose

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar Senior Designer role is essential
  • Proficiency in Vectorworks, AutoCAD or Revit is essential
  • Excellent understanding of UK construction methods and building regulations
  • Strong understanding of structural calculation documents
  • Experience dealing with suppliers, procurement management
  • Experience in modular construction, pre-fabrication or/and MMC
  • Strong presentation skills and line management experience
