Senior Designer (Retrofit Projects)

Thinking on your feet and working collaboratively with an extended network of architects, interior designers and clients is what the role is all about. The ideal candidate would be a go-getting designer, leading multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously through concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide creative leadership ensuring client needs and preferences are consulted throughout each step of the projects
• Lead the development of design concepts and delivery stages with the support of the Technical Designer and the wider team
• Stay up to date with industry trends, materiality and show an innovative approach to architectural strategies
• Be able to pitch new ideas to clients through a creative and personable approach
• Maintain strong client relationships through understanding their concerns and find design solutions to ensure client satisfaction
• Through prior experience, be able to juggle multiple projects from concept and design development stages whilst developing and managing timelines, resourcing and budgets
• Coordinate with external contractors, architects and the onsite team to ensure the feasibility and compliance of the role within the design specifications
• Foster a collaborative, open and creative work environment and guide junior designers through a supportive and understanding approach
• Regularly attend site visits to coordinate the design implementations and make sure it aligns with all approved plans
• Understand how concerns on site could be resolved quickly and effectively and be able to think quickly on your feet

Key Skills/Requirements:

• Bachelors or Master’s within Architecture or Interior Design is necessary for the role
• A portfolio showcasing diverse and high-quality projects with experience in commercial, office or retrofit projects being preferable
• Strong and personable communication, presentations skills
• Confidence in liaison and pitching to clients
• Quick decision-making skills
• Adaptable and a go-getting attitude and a passion and enthusiasm for continuous learning and growing
• Ambitious and forward-thinking ideas and ability to work within a team well
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup and Adobe Creative Suite is essential for the role
• Revit proficiency is preferable but not essential
• Good knowledge and understanding of suppliers, finishes and general FF&E experience
