Senior Finance Manager/Head of Finance

About The Role:

An established, mid-sized and multi-award-winning architecture studio is seeking an experienced, friendly, and strategic Senior Finance Manager/Head of Finance to join their team.

You will ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the company’s finances while implementing effective strategies in partnership with the Board of Directors to meet financial targets. The studio is experiencing significant growth, with a strong project pipeline ahead. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee all financial operations, maintain robust internal controls, and foster a positive working environment. Additionally, you’ll lead company initiatives aimed at improving the studios performance and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day to day finance functions for the company
  • Act as an advisor to the Board for all finance related matter
  • Develop financial strategies alongside the Board of Directors
  • Produce budgets and financial planning
  • Provide monthly reporting/commentary and overview of the company’s financials
  • Identify and manage financial risks
  • Ensure compliance across all financial aspects of the business
  • Develop and mentor Finance Assistant
  • Build relationships with auditors, banks, and other external stakeholders
  • Monitor project profitability
  • Review and improve financial processes

Key Skills/Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar position ideally within the built environment
  • CIMA/ACA/ACCA is desirable
  • Experience of Xero is beneficial
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent leadership qualities
  • Consultative, confident and strategic
