Senior Project Designer

The Role:

A wonderfully creative studio based in Central London have recently had the green light on numerous projects and are now in a position to grow the team with a Senior Project Designer. This would be an opportune time to join the business as one of their new projects will create waves in the world of hospitality and leisure.

Reporting to the CEO and Directors, the Senior Project Designer is considered to be a senior representative of the company. As such, the responsibilities are wide ranging and influential to the success of the company and how they are perceived in the industry, both internally and externally.

The aim of the role is to assume ownership, responsibility and accountability for the delivery of work assigned, and to assist the project lead to deliver projects to the highest level of professional competency and standards.

The Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee development of design ideas
  • Representing the company internally and externally and assist and advise directors on strategic and operational planning
  • Assist with recruitment
  • Assessing assigned projects against resources and project programming
  • Arranging and chairing weekly project meetings
  • Report on project status
  • Checking all documents including drawings, sketches, schedules, details and other documents relating to projects
  • Select FF&E, assist in developing bespoke designs, meet with suppliers and assist in project related documentation
  • Meet with client representatives
  • Work closely and advise Studio Director and Design Director of relevant team/project requirements

Key Skills:

  • Leading, mentoring and nurturing project team
  • Resource/time management and oversight of multiple design projects from concept to completion
  • Essential to have experience of the luxury sector – namely within hospitality, F&B and leisure
  • Able to develop creative design concepts with technical and commercial awareness
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of practicalities of the construction stage
  • Knowledge of commercial suppliers of finishes, material and FF&E
  • Knowledge of Fire regulation for FF&E relating to commercial properties, especially hotels and marine based projects
