Studio Director

The Role:
Our client is an internationally celebrated Landscape Architecture practice. Their portfolio is comprised of significant and impactful projects that are creative and explorative in nature.

They are seeking a Studio Director to oversee their busy office in New York. This is a leading and influential role that is integral to the success of the practice. The position is involved in project management, operations, and business development. The successful candidate will be confident, amiable and passionate about the landscape architecture space, with demonstrated experience in a leading role in project management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overall management of project teams at the NY office
• Engage in client and project acquisition
• Maintain existing client relationships
• Lead in contract negotiation, management and administration
• Project management duties such as workflow scheduling, overseeing budgets, involvement in CDs and CA, and project staffing – for local and international projects
• Provide mentorship to the team
• Work alongside internal finance team for high-level finance needs of the NY office

Key Skills:

• A degree in Landscape Architecture
• Experience in a senior or leading role in a project management capacity
• Has client-facing and business development experience
• Has a thorough understanding of construction documents and the contract admin process
• Is experienced in managing multiple projects at a time
• Significant experience in reviewing CDs and shop drawings
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Suite, Revit a plus but not required
• An empathetic leader and team player
