Wayfinding Designer

About The Role:

The Crowd is partnering with a mid-sized specialist design studio in London that is seeking a Midweight Wayfinding Designer to join their welcoming and supportive team on a permanent basis. 

In this role, you will collaborate within a dedicated wayfinding division, comprising of the Wayfinding Design Lead and another Midweight Wayfinding Designer. Together, you’ll work across various sectors, including aviation, rail, retail, commercial, culture, and more. The ideal candidate will have strong technical wayfinding experience and be a creative visionary with strong teamwork skills, a passion for development and strategy and have an outgoing nature, fitting seamlessly into a social, collaborative, and passionate team.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Assist in delivering a range of design projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to design briefs, schedules, and budgets
•  Create and provide designs, drawings, schedules, guidelines, and specifications across conceptual, tender, and construction phases
• Collaborate on wayfinding strategies, including graphic elements like colour schemes, typography, signage placement, and user testing
• Partner with marketing to develop collateral and content that promote the studio’s wayfinding projects
• Contribute to the design of bids and proposals for new work opportunities
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the studio team

Key Skills/Requirements: 

• Proven experience as a Wayfinding Designer at mid-weight level
• In-depth technical wayfinding expertise across large scale projects (aviation / transport highly advantageous)
• Strong proficiency with Adobe Suite
• Ability to embrace diverse tasks
• Confident working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Friendly and approachable demeanour
• A genuine passion for your field
