Senior Architect / Associate Director
About the Role:
A highly respected, design-led architecture and interiors studio based in New York is seeking an experienced Senior Architect / Associate Director to join its growing ground-up architecture practice. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role within a collaborative studio known for delivering thoughtful, high-quality work across architecture and interiors.

- Lead ground-up architectural projects through all phases, from concept design through construction administration
- Manage and mentor a small project team (typically 2–3 people)
- Run multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining design intent and technical quality
- Take a hands-on role in project management, coordination, and production
- Produce and oversee high-quality construction documentation, with a strong emphasis on Revit
- Coordinate closely with consultants, contractors, and client teams
- Navigate local building codes and regulatory requirements, particularly in New York and New Jersey
- Collaborate with interiors teams and senior leadership within a studio-based working model
- Contribute to a positive studio culture through clear communication and mentorship
Key Skills / Requirements:
- Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
- 10–15+ years of relevant post-graduate professional experience
- Strong background delivering ground-up architectural projects
- Proven experience taking projects from design through CA
- Technically strong, with excellent understanding of construction documentation and detailing
- Proficiency in Revit required; experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite a plus
- Experience working in New York required; New Jersey experience highly desirable
- Confident leading teams and managing project complexity
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
- Comfortable working in a studio environment rather than a large corporate setting
