Associate Vice President of Architecture

About The Role:

The Crowd is partnering with a globally recognized architecture and design practice known for delivering large-scale, design-led projects across various sectors worldwide. With studios spanning multiple international locations and a growing presence across North America, the practice has built a strong reputation for innovative, forward-thinking design and the delivery of complex, high-profile projects. Their San Francisco studio is now seeking an Associate Vice President to play a key leadership role within the practice.

This is a senior opportunity suited to a design-focused architect with strong leadership, client-facing and business development experience. You will work closely with principals and senior leadership to help shape the studio’s creative direction, oversee major projects and contribute to the continued growth and positioning of the office within the wider global practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creative vision and design direction across a range of complex projects and sectors
  • Oversee project teams through all phases, ensuring high standards of design, delivery and innovation
  • Act as Project Principal on major commissions and high-profile projects
  • Mentor and support multidisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative studio culture
  • Build and maintain strong client, consultant and stakeholder relationships
  • Support business development initiatives and help identify new project opportunities
  • Contribute to the strategic growth and long-term direction of the San Francisco studio
  • Lead client presentations, workshops and key project discussions

Key Skills / Requirements:

  • 12+ years of professional architectural experience
  • Registered Architect
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Proven experience leading design teams and delivering large-scale, complex projects
  • Strong client-facing, leadership and business development capabilities
  • Excellent design, communication and team management skills
  • Proficiency in Revit, BIM workflows and visualization software
