Project Accountant

The Role:

Our client a leading and highly-desirable international architecture practice is seeking a Project Accountant to join their team in their beautiful Manhattan practice.

This is a key position within the finance team that will be responsible for producing meaningful reporting and insight on large scale projects. Providing analysis, forecasting and budget oversight you will be an integral person within the finance team who will provide accurate project profitability overviews in management meetings that will highlight efficiencies and areas of improvement. The ideal person will have previous experience in a similar role within the design/built environment, preferably with exposure to large, international projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financials of various large-scale design projects
  • Provide accurate and timely operational and financial data
  • Produce various reports to aid with project decision making
  • Carry out project analysis and advise on areas of inefficiency
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting and planning
  • Carry out project analysis and revenue recognition
  • Contract and proposal reviews
  • Ensuring bills are timely and accurately submitted to clients
  • Oversight of project expenses and payments
  • Attend and provide key insight at project meetings
  • Carry out accurate reviews at the end of projects

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Proven experience in a project accounting position
  • Experience within the architecture/design/engineering/built environment
  • Analytical and meticulous
  • Able to convey financial information clearly to non-financial professionals
  • Experience of Deltek is beneficial
  • FX exposure would be advantageous
  • Collaborative and positive in your approach with a can-do attitude
