Business Development Coordinator

The Role:

A close-knit retail design company is seeking a forward-thinking Business Development Coordinator to join their friendly team. The company specialise in experiential projects for the tech, media and telecommunications sectors and create successful face-to-face experiences for their clients’ spaces. Within this business development role, you’ll work closely with leadership and the communications team to nurture existing relationships whilst researching and bringing on new clientele for new and exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business development outreach via new prospect exploration, monitoring and reviewing inbound leads, making new connections on LinkedIn, following up on marketing email leads and monitoring conversations across channels
  • Writing/creating outreach messaging appropriate to an agreed pipeline process
  • Arrange face-to-face and online meetings with qualified leads derived from managing a healthy sales pipeline, generating new sales leads, and nurturing existing leads
  • Monitor and update all correspondence, tasks, workflows and more via internal tracking systems
  • Research new business opportunities by identifying key target individuals in each target sector (telecommunications, technology and media) in the UK, Europe, Canada, USA and Asia
  • Manage and nurture existing relationships via phone, email and LinkedIn
  • Manage and update sales and BD activity in the internal sales database Hubspot
  • Keep on top of industry trends and conversations via LinkedIn and relevant media channels
  • Nurture existing client relationships and closely liaise with project teams and leadership to keep up to date on potential new projects with existing clients
  • Assist in creating content and documentation for sales meetings, presentations, and pitches
  • Bring in new ideas or ways to improve sales and BD
  • Participate in and attend industry events and networking  
  • Assist with other BD/marketing tasks within the company as needed

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience within the design industry working in business development, sales, marketing, communications, research, or a relevant role
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
  • Natural ability to connect with others and confidence to speak with people at all levels
  • Self-starter attitude with the ability to work autonomously as well as within a team
  • Strong research skills with the ability to identify new business opportunities
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Friendly, personable and sociable
