About The Role:

The Crowd are partnering with a globally renowned architecture and retail design practice that are leaders in their field. They are looking for an accomplished and well-connected Business Development Manager to join their friendly and supportive London based team.

In this role you will be play a pivotal role in driving growth and expansion within the global retail design and architectural sector. Your responsibilities will centre on identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and strengthening the UK market presence specifically. however international connections / knowledge would be a beneficial addition.

Our client is open to the seniority of the successful candidate however, the ideal person will have experience in a work winning capacity in the UK preferably within the retail design sector and will have good connections in the industry. This is a newly created role and is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join a growing team and make a role their own. You will have the full support and guidance of senior management and the scope to really develop and build your career with a design company that own their space globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out market research to identify new business opportunities in the retail design space, whilst monitoring industry trends and competitor’s projects
  • Produce and carry out strategic BD plans with a view to expanding the client base in the UK market
  • Cultivate relationships with new and potential clients, attending relevant events and representing the business where necessary
  • Maintain current relationship with clients and other external stakeholders
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure client requirements are fully understood and seamlessly incorporated into project execution
  • Attending client meetings and acting as a company ambassador
  • Produce compelling proposals and presentations for potential new opportunities, in addition to overseeing the requirements for marketing collateral and promotional materials
  • Produce reporting and metrics for discussion with senior management
  • Collaborate with the wider international teams to ensure companywide cohesion

Key Skills/Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the build environment in the UK
  • Deep understanding of the retail and design market in the UK and internationally
  • Strategic and commercially minded
  • Collaborative and team orientated with the ability to work autonomously
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong written communication skills
  • Highly personable and communicative
  • Proficient in MS Office, CRM systems and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Able to travel in the UK and internationally as and when required
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client needs are integrated into project delivery
  • Report on business development progress and client metrics to senior leadership
  • Represent the company at industry events, panels, and studio-hosted programming
