Business Development Manager

The Role:

A highly regarded architecture and design practice is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their New York studio.

Working closely alongside the Marketing & New Business Director, you will be responsible for finding and pursuing fruitful design opportunities in their existing markets as well as new market spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and produce business development deliverables such as project proposals, client presentations, marketing portfolios, design competition entries, etc
• Research and track new business opportunities via various methods
• Create both written and visual strategic content for business development deliverables
• Collaborate with the wider team to research information for deliverables
• Ensure deliverables are pristine and compliant with client requirements
• Plan and schedule internal meetings in line with client timeline
• Collaborate with director to ensure the tone of voice is aligned throughout the business’ content, creating a standard to use
• Develop and implement systems and procedures for whole studio to use to enable accurate and up to date project data
• Ensure updates or changes to project descriptions, staff bios, and narrative content are properly documented across all relevant business platforms

Key Skills:

• 10+ years’ experience preferred in marketing/BD/communications in the architecture, engineering or construction industry
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications is preferred
• Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, InDesign, and Photoshop
• Excellent organization, communication and work ethic
• Genuine appreciation for architecture and design industry and bettering communities
• Empathetic, positive leadership skills, and supportive by nature
