Contracts Manager

The Role:

Our client, a progressive and desirable multidisciplinary design practice, are looking for a part-time Contracts Manager to join their creative and collaborative team in east London on a 2-3 day a week basis.

With a growing portfolio of both UK and international projects, they are looking for someone with solid experience reviewing contracts (commercial & legal), fees, expenses, and other documents within the architecture industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and negotiate contracts, NDAs, and other legal documents
  • Draft and optimise design contracts and agreements to minimise risks
  • Discuss and resolve contract issues using sound judgement
  • Liaise with external advisors to ensure contract compliance
  • Manage contract documentation process, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify contract review opportunities
  • Coordinate with finance teams for expense estimates
  • Maintain organised appointment records and contribute to quality management
  • Deliver legal and contract training to staff

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience conducting legal and commercial contract reviews, identifying issues and risks
  • Demonstrates sound judgment in resolving contract issues effectively
  • Skilled in monitoring project appointments, management processes, and contract risk register
  • Dedicated to timely resolution of fee and contract matters
  • Strong drafting abilities for various commercial and legal documents
  • Knowledgeable about scope and resource requirements for complex international design projects
  • Capable of estimating design fees and expenses
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organised in maintaining contract documents and fee information
  • Strong interpersonal skills
