About The Role

A leading global architecture and design firm with a growing presence in Texas is seeking a Design Director to lead the creative direction of complex, multi-million-dollar projects.

This is a pivotal studio leadership role based in Houston, where you will work alongside an energetic, collaborative team committed to pushing design forward. The ideal candidate is a hands-on design leader with exceptional technical insight and the ability to inspire teams, guide clients, and help grow a design culture rooted in excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design vision and delivery of major, complex architectural projects
• Champion design quality from concept through construction
• Mentor and inspire a multidisciplinary team of designers and project architects
• Collaborate with studio leadership to shape the culture and direction of the practice
• Engage with clients, consultants, and partners to drive project success
• Support new business efforts as part of a team-based approach
• Play a key role in recruiting and developing emerging talent

Key Skills / Requirements

• Extensive architectural experience and a strong portfolio of built work
• Proven ability to lead design on large, complex projects
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage clients and guide internal teams
• Excellent technical coordination skills and a sharp design sensibility
• Collaborative leadership style with a studio-first mindset
• US architectural license preferred
• Willingness to relocate to Houston and commit to growing the local studio
