Document Controller
About the Role:

With a reputation for technical excellence and innovation, this studio is seeking a Document Controller to join its New York team and play a critical role in supporting project delivery and information management.
The ideal candidate will be a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with experience managing construction and project documentation within the AEC industry. This is a full-time, in-person position based in New York City, offering the opportunity to work closely with project teams to maintain accurate records, streamline document workflows, and support quality control processes across multiple projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organize project documentation, including drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, meeting records, and project correspondence
- Manage document control processes, ensuring information is accurately tracked, distributed, archived, and maintained in accordance with company standards
- Monitor document revisions, approvals, and issuance logs to ensure project teams always have access to the most current information
- Partner closely with project teams and consultants to support documentation needs and improve information management workflows
- Assist in maintaining document registers, reporting tools, and filing systems while helping identify opportunities to enhance existing processes
Key Skills / Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience in document control, construction administration, project coordination, or a related function within the architecture, engineering, or construction industry
- Strong understanding of construction documentation and project information workflows
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – experience with document management platforms such as Procore, SharePoint, Aconex, e-Builder, CMiC, or similar systems is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine interest in developing a long-term career within document control and information management
