Intermediate Hospitality Interior Designer

The Role:

Looking for a new opportunity in the hospitality space? Our client, a boutique interior design practice with a reputation for contemporary design aesthetics and an emphasis on texture and form, is looking for a talented designer to join their team. This role will involve working on intimate restaurants, bars, and boutique hotels – all within the hospitality sector.

As an Intermediate Interior Designer, you’ll need excellent technical design skills and significant experience with custom FF&E. You should be comfortable working at any design phase. You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of hospitality spaces – from furniture, wallcoverings, rugs, fixtures, lighting, and other elements to spatial design and planning. You’ll also produce design documentation and work alongside vendors to facilitate project needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design all aspects of hospitality spaces, from furniture to lighting
  • Spatial design and planning
  • Be involved in all design phases, including model room development, procurement, and site meetings
  • Produce design documentation needed to technically communicate any bespoke elements of a project
  • Work alongside vendors on specification needs
  • Coordinate with consultants such as fabricators and client-side design team to facilitate project needs
  • Contribute to presentation decks

Key Skills:

  • A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture
  • Significant project experience in the hospitality sector such as restaurants, bars, hotels, or a combination
  • Excellent knowledge of furniture design and documentation
  • Experience working on all design phases
  • Proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, and Adobe CS
  • Rendering software skills are an asset
  • Client-facing experience
  • Strong presentation skills
