Intermediate Interior Designer

The Role:

Our client, who are a boutique interior design studio well-known for their conscious approach, with award-winning projects scattered around the globe are seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer to join their New York team.

Their projects focus spans across boutique hospitality, luxury residential, mixed-use and historic preservation. The ideal candidate will come with well-rounded experience across hospitality projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be involved in the entire design process from conception to project closeout
• Work alongside a larger ID team to plan, ideate and execute presentation documents
• Select contract and residential FF&E and assemble spec documentation
• Create design documentation for bespoke furniture and millwork
• Utilize SketchUp, hand drawing and Adobe CS to model and communicate design intent
• Liaise directly with vendors and consultants
• Lead meetings with client

Key Skills: 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture
• Hospitality project experience is a requirement
• Luxury residential and retail experience a plus
• Excellent understanding of design documentation and detailing, with emphasis on FF&E
• Experience supporting a project manager, or direct involvement in project management duties
• Fluency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Adobe CS
• Experience with Vectorworks would be a benefit
• Comfortable presenting design ideas to clients
