Job Captain (Commercial Workplace)

About The Role:

A well-established, highly respected commercial interiors studio in Los Angeles is exploring the addition of a Job Captain to support their growing workplace portfolio.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative, delivery-focused team working on thoughtfully designed commercial interiors projects across office build-outs and tenant improvements, typically ranging from 5,000–20,000 SF.

The studio has built a strong reputation for long-standing client relationships and repeat business, delivering high-quality workplace environments within existing buildings across LA. You’ll gain exposure to projects from early design stages through construction administration, working closely with Principals, clients, consultants, and contractors.

For someone looking to deepen their technical expertise, take ownership of project packages, and grow within a stable and supportive studio environment, this role offers genuine long-term progression. There is clear scope to develop into a Senior Job Captain or Project Manager position over time.

If you’re an execution-focused Job Captain who enjoys technically strong, well-run projects within a collaborative studio, we’d love to connect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead drawing production and documentation sets in Revit across all project phases
  • Coordinate with consultants including MEP, structural, and landlord teams
  • Support project delivery from schematic design through construction administration
  • Attend site visits and assist with CA, RFIs, and submittals
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership and clients on workplace interiors projects

Key Skills / Requirements:

  • 5–10+ years of experience within commercial interiors or workplace-focused architecture
  • Strong Revit proficiency with solid documentation and detailing capability
  • Experience delivering small-to-mid scale tenant improvement projects
  • Knowledge of California building codes and permitting processes
  • LA-based or already located within commuting distance
