Junior and Intermediate Hospitality Interior Designers

The Role:

The Crowd are currently working with a reputable international interior design firm based in Manhattan distinguished for its award-winning hospitality projects. Their hallmarks convey designs that are timeless in style yet welcoming to current trends and techniques. They are looking to hire ambitious and creative Junior and Intermediate Hospitality Interior Designers to contribute to the full scope of hospitality design endeavors from initial concept through final execution.

As part of these roles, you will participate in the production of elevated design concepts while gaining valuable experience in shaping and executing innovative, hospitality-focused projects. This is an exciting opportunity for eager designers to contribute to a dynamic atmosphere while further developing their skills within the realm of hospitality design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce design documents, under the guidance of a senior designer, from initial concept through construction administration.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and SketchUp software to produce technical documentation.
  • Produce 2D and 3D preliminary designs, including mood boards and reference boards.
  • Produce construction documents including elevations, architectural designs, electrical, plumbing and schedules for finishes.
  • Gathers data on pricing, sourcing, and lead times.
  • Coordinate and develop FF&E specifications including custom millwork designs.
  • Create initial design sketches utilizing CAD software.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and vendors.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once.

Key Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in interior design or related fields
  • Junior Designer – 3+ years of post-graduate experience
  • Intermediate Designer – 8+ years of post-graduate experience
  • Notable experience within the hospitality sector and understanding of standards, codes, and hotel operations.
  • Expertise in identifying fabricators for personalized furniture, lighting, and joinery.
  • Legal and physical residency in New York City or vicinity
  • Ability to work out of the Manhattan office full time.
  • High-level proficiencies with AutoCAD, Photoshop, and SketchUp
