Operations Director

The Role:

Our client, a well-known design firm working on large hospitality projects, is looking for an Operations Director to manage dynamic teams and oversee installations across a variety of project typologies.

This is a great role for someone with previous operations experience and well as experience managing a team. Prior background within the arch/design field is highly beneficial for this role, but not required. This is a very hands-on role and is perfect for someone who is highly organized, enjoys a team environment, and is happy rolling up their sleeves and helping out on-site.

The role would involve creating daily and weekly work schedules for a busy team, working closely with finance to track budgets, and collaborating across internal departments to ensure that team members have the resources they need for any given installation project. This is a great fit for someone with a can-do attitude, as well as strong management and people-person skills, to step into a leadership role that is integral to the practice. Key Responsibilities:

  • Disperse workloads according to project needs and create effective and clear daily and weekly schedules across different teams
  • Work to streamline and improve operational processes when needed
  • Work with finance teams to monitor project budgets
  • Keep all involved parties up to date on status of projects + help resolve issues as they arise with a forward-thinking, team mentality
  • Inspire team members to produce quality work within budget and time constraints, and ensure they have the resources necessary to do so
  • Encourage collaboration and growth for all team members
  • Ensure job sites are in alignment with operational safety standards

Key Skills:

  • Significant level of previous experience in a management role
  • Significant level of previous experience in operations and/or administration, preferably within the A/E/C space
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Someone highly organized and detail-oriented who is also good at seeing the big picture and managing priorities according to strict timelines
  • Someone willing to roll up their sleeves and help with manual tasks on-site
  • Valid driver’s license is required for the role
  • OSHA certification is highly beneficial for the role, but not required
