Project Architect (Healthcare)

About the Role:

We are working with a national architecture and design practice that is expanding its footprint in the Southeast. Their Durham office is growing steadily and is looking to bring on a skilled Project Architect to help lead the technical delivery of complex healthcare projects in the region and beyond.

This role sits within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team that merges design, planning, and engineering. You will take the lead on technical coordination, design execution, and consultant management, playing a central role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and thoughtfully. Key Responsibilities:

• Take the lead on project documentation, detailing, and construction administration
• Collaborate closely with consultants and in-house teams to maintain project quality and timelines
• Drive technical coordination through all project phases
• Ensure code compliance, permitting, and adherence to client requirements
• Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders
• Support team development and contribute to a positive, knowledge-sharing environment

Key Skills/Requirements:

• Solid professional experience in architecture (healthcare or other complex project types preferred)
• Proven technical strength and project coordination skills
• Fluency in Revit; familiarity with BIM workflows and integrated project delivery methods
• Understanding of building systems, construction documentation, and permitting processes
• Registered Architect or actively pursuing licensure
• Collaborative approach with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Located in or open to relocating to Durham (hybrid setup offered)
