Project Manager (Education Sector)
About the Role:
Our client is a nationally recognized architecture practice dedicated to creating learning environments that inspire, connect, and empower communities. Their work across the education sector is known for blending design innovation with functionality, delivering projects that support both students and educators in meaningful ways.
They are seeking an experienced Project Manager with approximately 8–15 years of professional experience to join their Education Sector team. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, while maintaining a strong presence on project sites throughout the Bay Area. You will lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering high-performing, forward-thinking K–12 projects that reflect the studio’s commitment to design excellence and long-term community impact.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of K–12 education projects from design through construction, ensuring alignment with schedule, budget, and design vision
- Manage internal design teams and coordinate with consultants and contractors to achieve successful project delivery
- Serve as the main client contact, building trusted relationships with district and school leadership
- Oversee permitting, construction administration, and quality control processes
- Monitor project budgets and schedules, providing proactive risk management and communication
- Ensure compliance with educational design standards, building codes, and DSA requirements
- Mentor junior team members, supporting a culture of collaboration and professional growth
- Contribute to business development efforts by supporting proposals and sector strategy initiatives
Key Skills / Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
- 8–15 years of professional experience, ideally focused on K–12 or higher education projects
- California architectural license preferred
- Strong understanding of K–12 design standards, educational planning, and DSA processes
- Proven experience managing projects through all phases, from design to occupancy
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with project management tools
- Ability to travel to Bay Area project sites as required
