Senior Interior Designer (Hospitality)

About The Role:

A globally recognized, design-led architecture and interiors studio is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join its New York team. Known for creating immersive, concept-driven environments across hospitality, cultural, and entertainment sectors, the studio is celebrated for its bold storytelling, material innovation, and highly collaborative approach.

This is a leadership opportunity for a well-rounded designer with a strong foundation in hospitality interiors, who is passionate about crafting experiential spaces that are both visually compelling and technically rigorous. You will take ownership of projects from early concept through construction, guiding both the creative vision and the detailed execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead hospitality and experiential interior projects across all phases, from concept design through construction administration
  • Develop and communicate strong design narratives through presentations, mood boards, material palettes, and 3D visualizations
  • Oversee space planning, ensuring functionality, flow, and alignment with the overall design concept
  • Produce and guide the development of detailed drawing packages, including plans, elevations, RCPs, and custom design elements
  • Collaborate closely with project architects, consultants, and internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, leading presentations and maintaining clear, professional communication
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs to ensure design intent is upheld throughout construction
  • Specify materials, finishes, and FF&E in line with the project vision and brand identity
  • Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, and contractors to support execution and installation
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and internal team coordination
  • Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing studio culture

Key Skills / Requirements:

  • Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field
  • 10+ years of professional experience, with a strong focus on hospitality design required
  • Proven ability to lead projects through all phases, from concept through construction administration
  • Strong design sensibility with the ability to translate concepts into fully realized environments
  • Advanced knowledge of materials, finishes, millwork, FF&E, and OS&E
  • Experience producing and coordinating comprehensive construction documentation packages
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Rhino and Revit preferred
  • Strong understanding of specifications and documentation processes
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence in client-facing situations
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and mentor team members
