Senior Interior Designer (Luxury Residential)

A highly respected, design-driven architecture and interiors studio based in New York City is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join its dedicated residential team. This studio is acclaimed for their work on bespoke private residences, defined by architectural clarity, material richness, and a quietly sophisticated interior approach.

This role is ideal for a seasoned designer with a strong background in high-end residential work who is excited to take ownership of complex, bespoke homes from early concept through final installation. The successful candidate will bring a sophisticated design eye, strong technical expertise, and the confidence to lead projects while collaborating closely within a multidisciplinary studio environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the interior design of custom, luxury residential projects from concept through installation
• Translate design narratives into cohesive, highly detailed interior environments
• Serve as a primary client-facing designer, presenting concepts and guiding decision-making throughout the project lifecycle
• Collaborate closely with architects, consultants, fabricators, and artisans to execute bespoke residential interiors
• Oversee the development and review of detailed construction drawings, custom millwork packages, and interior architectural details
• Direct the selection and specification of finishes, materials, furniture, lighting, and decorative elements
• Manage project schedules, deliverables, and internal coordination to ensure timely execution
• Provide mentorship and design guidance to junior team members
• Maintain documentation and quality control in alignment with studio standards

Key Skills / Requirements: 

• 8+ years of professional interior design experience with a strong emphasis on luxury residential projects
• Proven ability to lead high-end private residential projects from concept through construction and installation
• Deep expertise in residential materiality, custom furniture, millwork detailing, and interior architectural systems
• Strong design leadership paired with hands-on technical and production experience
• Confident client-facing communication and presentation skills
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp required
• Experience with Revit, Rhino, and rendering tools is a plus
