Senior Workplace Interior Designer

About The Role:

They are currently seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join their San Francisco office, bringing strong creative leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for elevating workplace environments. In this role, you will take the design lead on multiple projects, helping to guide conceptual direction, mentor junior designers, and act as a trusted liaison between the client, consultant teams, and internal leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the interior design process across multiple projects, from early concept through design development, documentation, and construction administration
  • Guide and present design concepts directly to client stakeholder groups and executive teams
  • Translate client goals and brand values into tailored design solutions that balance aesthetics, function, and budget
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, consultants, and technical staff to align design intent with project delivery requirements
  • Provide mentorship and oversight to junior and intermediate designers, guiding their professional growth and maintaining high design standards
  • Define and direct the production of design deliverables including mood boards, FF&E packages, finish plans, elevations, and material selections
  • Oversee and contribute to the development of detailed construction documents using Revit, ensuring code compliance, constructability, and adherence to firm quality standards
  • Drive FF&E strategy, including sourcing, specification, procurement coordination, and vendor interface
  • Participate in client presentations, workshops, and design charrettes, adjusting deliverables as needed based on evolving client feedback
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and field conditions throughout the construction process to ensure design integrity

Key Skills/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Interior Design or related field
  • 8+ years of post-graduate experience in interior design
  • A strong portfolio of workplace and commercial interiors is required
  • Licensure or certification (NCIDQ) preferred but not required
  • Strong design sensibility with demonstrated experience leading concept development and client presentations
  • High proficiency in Revit is essential; familiarity with Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, and other rendering platforms is a plus
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, codes, detailing, and technical documentation
  • Extensive experience with FF&E sourcing, budgeting, and procurement processes
  • Skilled in coordinating with vendors, fabricators, consultants, and contractors across project phases
  • Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage project priorities with confidence and empathy
